INSTR UCT IONS FOR ORDER ING SPARE PARTS This Spare Parts List deal s with replaceab le parts for Model 650 cc. of 1961 /2 manufacture . lt is most essentia l that the Engine and Frame Number of the machine is stated . The Engine Number is to be found on the transm ission side of the Crankcase directly below cylinder base. The frame number is stamped on the left hand side of the frame gusset plate on all models . lt is always advisab le to order parts on a separat e sheet, and not to include on the same sheet other matter of a different nature; this facilitates prompt despatch . lt is found in a number of instances that mon.e y ord er s and postal orders are sent in parcels containing patterns; this is inadvis able. We str ongly recommend parts as patterns being despatched separate ly, and a covering lette r sent contai ning the remittance for replacement parts. RETURNING MACHINES FOR OVERHAU LING When returning machines or parts for repair or overhau l, these should be sent carriage paid, and with the sender's name and address in full secur ely_attac hed. lt is also advisable to state on the tally th at a letter has been sent respecting th e parts, and giving the date . All easily detached fittings shou ld be removed, such as Lamps, Horns, Too l Bags, Speedometers, etc.; these are liable to be lost or damaged in transit, and the Comp any cannot accept any responsibil ity for them. ESTIMATES FOR REPAIRING MACHINES We are always prepared to give app roximate est imates for the cost of repairs; it is quite im– possible to give a firm quotat ion. Addit ional parts may be found necessary durin g the process of repair, unforseen when preparing an estimate. Should our estimate for repa ir not be accepted , a charge may be made in accordanc ewith work enta iled in dismantling and re-assembling. Whe n we give an estimat e for cost of repairs , and this is curtai led by the owner ,we cannot accept any respon– slb il ty for the perform ance of the machine; it is always preferable to accept our est imate in full. PURCHASE OF SPARE PARTS The name of the nearest Norton dealer will be supplied on request and if any difficulty what – ever is experienced in obtaining spare parts throu gh a Norton Dealer, if we are advised, we shall be very pleased to investigate the matt er. lt is our desire that replacement parts ar e available to Norton owners with the least possible delay .
