7. , ,· TRIUMPH GUARANTEE 1. ln this Gua rant ee th e word "machine "refer s to the motor cycle, scoot er, motor cycle combi nat ion or sidecar as the case may be, purchas ed by t he Purchas er. 2. ln order to obtain the benefit of this Guarant ee, th e Purchaser must have correct ly complete d t he regist ration form and returned it to us within fourt eendays of th e purc hase. 3. We will supply, free of charge, a new part ìri exc hange for, or, if we consider repair sufficient, wil I repair free of charg e any part prov ed within six months of the dat e of pur cha se of any new machin e, (three months overseas) or with in thr ee months of its renewal or repair in the case of a part alr eady renewed or repair ed, to be defec tiv e by reason of our faulty workmanshi por mater ials. We do not und ertake to bear th e cost of fittin g such new or repaired part or accessory . .4 Any part consider ed t o be defectiv e must be sent to our Wor ks, carr iage paid, accompanied by the followi ng information :- (a) Name of purchas er and his address; (b) Date of purchase of machine; (e) Name of dea ler from who m t he pur chase was made; (d) Engine number and model. 5. This Guarant eeshall not ext end to de fects or damage appear ing afte r misuse, neglect, abnorma l stress or strai n, or the incorporation or affixing of unsuitab le attachm ents or par t s and in par ticular:- (a) Hir ing out; (b) Racing and Com petitions; (c) Adapt ation or alterati on of any part or part s after leaving our W orks; (d) The at t aching of a sidecar in a manner not app roved by us or to an unsu itable motor cycle. . This Guarantee shall not extend to machines whose tr ade mark, name or manu factu ring number has been altered or removed, or in which has been used any part not supplied or app roved by us, or to tyre s, saddles, chains, speed omet er s, revolution count ers and elect rical equipment or to part s supplied to t he ord er of th e Purchas er and different from our standard specificat ion. Our liability and th at of our de aler who sells the machine, ~ all be limited to t hat set out in this guar ant ee, and not other claims includi ng claims for cons equentia f. dama geor injury t o person or proper ty, shall be admi ssable. All oth er condit ions and warranti es st atutory or ot herwise and whet her express or implied are hereby ex clude d and no guarant ee other than that exp ressly herein con tai·ned applies to the machine t o which th is Guaran tee relates or any accessory or part th ereof. We reser ve the right t o mod ify or deviat e from the Pub lished Specification without notice. 6. THE FITTING OF ANY COMPONENTS WHICH ARE NOT APPROVED BY THE MANUFACTURER INVALIDATES TH E GUARANTEE REPAIRS GUARANTEE 1. Whilst t he highest stan dard of workma nship and materia ls is aime d at, we cannot accep t liability for any defect s app ear ing mor e than t hr ee mont hs after the machine, assembly or compon ent has left our W orks after being repaired. 2. W e will repair or replace at our option free of charge any defectiv e wor k, mate ria ls or par t s relatin g to the repairs carried out by us appear ing within that time but shall not be under any fur t her or ot her liability for any oth er loss or damag e whethe r direct or consequ ential and our liability shall be limited to the cos t of so mak ing good . W e do not under ta ke to bear the cost of fitt ing any replacem ent or repaire d part. 3. W e do not accept liability in res pect of parts of propr ieta ry manufactu re, e.g. tyr es, saddles , chains, spee domet ers, revolution counter s and electrical equ ipment which may be used by us in effecting a repair . All othe r cond it ions and wa rranties st atutory or oth erw ise express or implied are her eby :xcluded . 2
